Is Tesla a Smart Investment?

    Tesla is ran by the fictional version of Tony Stark from the Iron Man movies, Elon Musk. Elon is no stranger to the media and has been known to cause rallys within the stock world with a single Tweet. With Tesla being ran by a strong leader such as Elon, we have to ask ourselves: is it a smart investment?    


    Since becoming a Relivant Fortune 500 company Tesla has been on an upward downward trend since the end of the covid year (2020). But like everything else in life your never always going up. There is always going to be ups and downs in the road, but with a stock like Tesla, it seems to be more dramatic than other options. Ever heard the phrase, "Any publicity is good publicity"? This is where Tesla shines where as other car companies don't. Elon Musk is a familiar face in the media, constantly sparking conversations about his actions and future plans. This media attention can significantly impact Tesla's stock price, either propelling it forward or causing it to stumble, depending on the nature of the press coverage. An Example of this happening is when the Cyber Truck was announced in late 2019 starting the upward trend of stock peaking a just under $300. An example of a negative impact would be when Elon took a hit of a joint on the famous Joe Rogan podcast. This sent investors into a tizzy resulting in the stock price tanking by 10%. According to NASDAQ Valuation analysis suggests Tesla's stock is expensive, potentially reflecting high investor expectations, making it less appealing for some investors despite its strengths. After taking in all of this information, you have to ask yourself: is it smart? If you are an avid consumer of daily news and keep up with the business' newletter and other 3rd party factors that could affect your investment, Id say its smart. But if your like me and want constant return on investment with little to no downside risk. Id say your better off investing in the S&P 500 or a stock like Berkshire Hathaway-B.
